What we collect

When you submit or recommend a book, we store the details you provide: the Amazon product link, title, author, genre selections, blurb, submitter name/handle, and optionally an uploaded cover image.

Amazon affiliate tracking

WordOfShelf is a participant in the Amazon Associates program. When you click "View on Amazon" from this site, your browser is sent to Amazon with our affiliate tag attached as a URL parameter. Amazon may then set its own cookies on their domain to track that referral — we do not control or have access to those cookies, and no affiliate tracking happens on WordOfShelf's own pages.

Email verification

We send a verification email when you register, and may send you occasional service messages (e.g. moderation decisions on your submissions). We do not sell or share your email address with third parties.

Data retention and requests

You can request that we delete your account and associated data by contacting us at [insert contact email]. Approved book listings you submitted may be retained in the public catalog with attribution unless you request their removal as well.
